Hollywood says goodbye to Actor Dick Van Patten best known for his role as the father, Tom Bradford, in the comedy-drama series Eight is Enough. The series ran on ABC from March 15, 1977, until August 29, 1981.
Dick Van Patten was an animal lover and co-founded the Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Pet Foods in 1989. In 2008, he founded National Guide Dog Month, to raise awareness and money for nonprofit guide dog schools in the United States.
