The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade presented by the retail store chain Macy's. The tradition started in 1924. In New York, people marched to Macy's store on 34th Street dressed in vibrant costumes with floats, professional bands and live animals. At the end of the parade, Santa Claus is welcomed as the first sign of Christmas.
